An interior of a large dining house. Long benches and alcoves with tables are full with men busily eating, drinking and talking. Hats, and a coat are hung on pegs along the walls behind the diners, a clock on the wall shows just after 8.30. At the far end of the room are three large paned glass windows with elongated mirrors between them.
A serving man and a woman are attending the table in the right foreground, and two dogs are by the left foreground table, one of the sitting up to beg for food.
