Half length portrait in a titled oval border with commemorative verse below. Edward Reynolds was a Doctor of Divinity of Oxford University, vicar of St Lawrence Jury in the City, and later Bishop of Norwich. A moderate Anglican who followed the tide throughout the Civil War and the Restoration. Published many sermons for the 1658 edition of which this portrait was engraved. He famously contributed the general thanksgiving to the 1662 Book of Common Prayer.
