A full length portrait of Henrietta Crofts, youngest daughter of the Duke of Monmouth (bastard son of Charles II), and Monmouth’s wife Eleanor Needham. In 1697 she became third wife of Charles Paulet who in 1699 became 2nd Duke of Bolton. She died Feb. 27th 1730. She stands with one foot resting on a pedestal, holding a basket of flowers, with her hair dressed in long curls and wearing a loose, flowing satin robe. In the background is a balustrade and view over a garden.
