A rare and somewhat mysterious German mezzotint portrait of a pretty young woman wearing a female version of military uniform. She wears a small, plumed hat with the brim upturned at the back on powdered hair, a lace trimmed, black scarf and a lowcut, braided jacket, with upturned cuffs and lace trimmed gauntlets. A powderhorn is slung from her shoulder and she carries a riding whip under her arm and a baton in her left hand. In the background is a rocky landscape.
