A fine  half-length portait, directed to the front and looking to the left, right arm resting on a table, a string of pearls is entwined in her hair, passing over her right shoulder and across her chest.

Elizabeth, the only daughter of Sir Ralphe Milbanke, of Halnaby Co. York, she was married in 1769 to Sir Peniston Lambe, who was created Lord Melbourne in the following year. She died 6^th April 1818. Her son was Premier, 1834 – 41, and her daughter was the wife of another Premier, Lord Palmerston
