A small, picturesque view of Woodford in Essex. The view shows St. Mary’s Church, with a shepherd and his flock of sheep in the foreground. In 1816 the church was enlarged and remodelled in the Gothic style, keeping, however, the tower as shown here. The interior of the church was destroyed by arsonists in 1969 and reopened in 1972.
