A full length portrait in profile of George Bodens, who was commissioned in 1762. He was a favourite subject of Sayers, who etched a number of caricatures of him. He was a member of Boodles, ‘ fattest, best-tempered and most popular man in London’. He is here semi-caricaturized, in profile, wearing a loopedhat and buttoned overcoat, his hand thrust in his coat pocket.
