Description
A scene on a desolate craggy moorland. In the foreground a young man lies on the ground stoking a small fire with the sickle he has been using to cut ferns for fuel. Two small ragged girls watch him, while on the right his wife, wrapped in a large woollen cloak, carries the baby and a basket.
