A rare, decorative, full length portrait of the beautiful and clever Lady Isabella Stanhope, daughter of the second Earl of Harrington and wife of the 1st Earl of Sefton. She stands in a garden, possibly of the family estate of Croxteth Hall near Liverpool, leaning her arm on a wall, with a large carved urn in the background. Her hair is dressed high and she wears a flounced and lace trimmed overdress.
