Miss Greenway sits half length, facing slightly to the right, dressed en deshabillée with flowing hair, shift and dressing gown with huge, pearl embroidered sleeves. Her right elbow rests on a velvet cushion. Daughter of John Greenway, Keeper of His Majesty’s Stores at Portsmouth Dockyard, she married in 1771 at Kingston in Hampshire, the Hon. Francis Napier (3^rd son of the 5^th Baron Napier), who died soon after at Dublin in 1779.
