Description
A fine view of the King’s Mews, Charing Cross, built in 1732 by William Kent, on the site of the present National Gallery. The view shows horses being led up and down outside Kent’s fine frontage, with its rusticated columns, and Royal Arms enclosed in the pediment. In the distance is St. Martin’s in the Fields. The building was demolished in 1830 to make way for the development of Trafalgar Square.
