Francesco Bartolozzi after William Hogarth
London, Baldwin Craddock & Joy 1822
270 x 205mm
A lively portrait after Hogarth’s painting which now hangs in the National Gallery, of a shrimp seller. She is depicted three quarter length, smiling cheerfully over her shoulder, with one bare breast, and carries a wickerwork tray of shrimps with a half pint measuring pot on her head.
