A fine, large portrait of the Misses Elizabeth and Emma Crewe ; three-quarter length, standing, with Elizabeth on the right, holding a flower basket in one hand and embracing her sister, Emma, on the left.
Daughters of John Crewe, Esq. M.P. for Cheshire. Elizabeth married Dr. Hinchcliffe, afterwards Bishop of Peterborough (who was tutor to her brother, and was asked by him to dissuade her from receiving attentions of an officer who was distasteful to him, which was successfully accomplished) Emma died unmarried.
