A scene in the Throne Room at Windsor. On the left King George IV sits on his throne on a small dais, thowing a temper tantrum, with the tiny belligerent figure of Wellington, waving his sword, at his feet. On the right, the horrified figure of Lord Eldon kneels on the steps of the throne, a pile of enormous green bags full of petitions at his back, as the King kicks a large Petition against Catholic Emancipation from Lunatic Asylum back at Eldon’s head. Eldon had attempted to present the King with a petition protesting Catholic Emancipation at the beginning of March, but the King, persuaded by Wellington, angrily refused to receive him. Not in BM Cat.
