A fine impression of a very rare musical caricature by Bunbury. A scene in a French country village. In the centre a romantically dressed young ruffian, playing a hurdy-gurdy, scowls at the advances made by a handsome young soldier to a pretty lute player. In the background on the left a girl plays a large tambourine and on the right a child plays a triangle. The ensemble is accompanied by barking dogs and watched by two enormously fat, grinning friars. In the background are the lightly sketched outlines of a village street and church tower. Not in BM Cat.
