A satire on the absurd fashions of the day. A scene in leafy Kensington Gardens. All the promenaders wear monstrously exaggerated fashionable dress. The women all have hugely wide brimmed straw hats decorated with enormous ribbons and bows and their dresses have exaggerated balloon sleeves and tightly nipped in waists. The men all wear dark frock coats with similarly tight waists, tall hats and bell bottomed trousers. BM 15981.
