A teacher seated at right on a stool behind a pulpit, in profile to left (Daniel O’Connell), with a ‘tail’ lettered with ‘Repeal’; papers lying in front of him lettered with ‘Irish Tithe Bill / Irish Corporatn. &c &c’ t, teaching seven pupils, with adult men’s heads, standing in a semi-circle at left and centre (Lord Melbourne, Lord Lansdowne, Lord Duncannon, Lord Russell, Thomas Spring Rice, Lord Morpeth, Lord Palmerston).
