A large and handsome portrait by Faldoni,an
Italian engraver, born in Asolo, near Venice at the beginning of the 18th century, where credited with introducing Mellan manner to Venice. Between 1724 and 1735 he engraved a series of the elder Anton Maria Zanetti’s copies of drawings by Parmigianino. Involved in numerous violent incidents, and banned in 1765 from the territories of the Venetian Republic.
