Mr. John Robinson of Hinckley, Born March 6th 1723-4. Died Nov. 10th 1792

A rare, interesting portrait of the extremely tall, gangling, seated figure of the astronomer John Robinson of Hinckley, with an inset portrait of his friend Rev. John Cole Gallaway. The extremely ugly, beak nosed figure of Robinson lounges in his chair, wearing a closely buttoned dark suit and buckled shoes on his enourmous feet.
