George IV, in back view, sits on a red and gold daybed, graciously shaking hands with Lord Eldon. On his right is the Duke of Cumberland who stands with arms akimbo surveying the scene, while in the background Chancellor Lyndhurst and Robert Peel whisper together. A satire on Wellington’s complaint that the Duke of Cumberland exercised undue influence over the King, and Eldon’s pending reinstatement as Chancellor. BM 15817.
