On his right is the Duke of Cumberland who stands with arms akimbo surveying the scene, while in the background Chancellor Lyndhurst and Robert Peel whisper together. A satire on Wellington’s complaint that the Duke of Cumberland exercised undue influence over the King, and Eldon’s pending reinstatement as Chancellor. BM 15817.
