Whole length portrait of a man standing full face. His right hand rests on a tasselled cane. His left is thrust inside his waistcoat. He wears a laced hat, embroidered waistcoat, ruffled shirt, a solitaire, and a sword. He is knock-kneed.
Probably a portrait of Lord Harrington whose house was called the Stable Yard (St. James’s); Lady Harrington was called the Stable Yard Messalina
