The elderly, pot bellied figure of William Fletcher (1739-1826), stands in profile to the left, wearing a dark coat and stockings, and carrying a black, laced cocked hat in his hand. Banker and bookseller of Oxford, he became Mayor in 1782, 1796 and 1809. BM 11068.
